A flexible integrated library system for managing all types of library collections and their typical workflows for empowering and delivering personalized service over the Web to library users. IDEA@Lib manages library collections of any size, locally or networked, for easy sharing and exposure of their resources.

  • Management of heterogeneous library materials for cataloging of books, manuscripts, periodicals, documents, posters, photographs, DVDs, audio recordings, maps and more with pre-defined and/or institute customized templates.

  • Complies with industry standards: MARC/MODS export, Dublin Core and Z39.50.

  • Cataloging by copying from item to item for maximum work efficiency. Items can be copied from the system's database or from external sources.

  • Advanced and user friendly Web Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) powered with a variety of user services such as loan extension, placing hold requests and Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) to self-register for alerts and other personal services.

  • Item link mechanism: Creation, management and display of links between items.

  • Thesaurus management streamlining all aspects of thesaurus work: construction, management, and maintenance with a graphical tree structure.

  • Circulation module: Management of loans, returns and all other circulation activities. Support for short loans, group loans, routing lists and automatic e-mail and SMS reminders.

  • User's module: Management of all user information including the user’s personal details and photograph, passwords, hold requests and users groups. Includes also subscription and payment management for late return or loss, fines, and services such as photocopying.

  • Barcode support for items and users that is used to manage loan activities, returns and orders. Infrastructure to integrate with RFID technologies.

  • Acquisitions module: Management of workflows and communications related to vendors and acquisitions processes including requests for price proposals, purchase orders, discounts, VAT calculations, order tracking, delivery requests, budget control and report generation.

  • Open system with XML based export and import utilities.

  • Iportal: A web based portal for editing and displaying information, news and events, links and access to the catalog. The portal can be built and managed using a set of predefined templates for content, forms, management of user's applications and more.
